ANT AND DECORATORS TERMS OF USE

SURVEY & ESTIMATE

  • Whilst every effort is made to provide the most accurate estimate it is not always possible to anticipate every element of repair that may become apparent on invasive survey. Should additional work be required we will always try to refer to you first.


ROOM PREPERATION, WORKS & COMPLETION

  • We are very experienced at working in both commercial and domestic dwellings. It is our intention to minimise the disruption to your daily lives as much as possible. A large percentage of our work is in households with young children, pets and home offices. As a family business we pride ourselves on being conscientious, polite and tidy and as such will respect your home at all times.

  • Unless otherwise agreed in writing we ask that the work area is clear of breakables and that where possible furniture is moved to the centre of the room. We can move furniture but cannot be held responsible for any damage to fabrics, materials etc. Please speak to us if you have any concerns prior works starting, there may be a charge for moving furniture.

  • We love children & pets.... but not when we are working as they tend to be attracted to adhesives and paint! For this reason, we cannot be held responsible for your children/pet’s wellbeing or actions whilst work is being actioned. Please speak to us prior to works if you have any concerns.


PAYMENT

  • A non refundable deposit of up to 20% is required to secure works (the non refundable deposit only applies to your cancellation of the job at less than 7 days prior to the agreed start date. Whilst we have yet to cancel a job, in the unlikely event we are not able to carry out the work as quoted we would of course fully refund your deposit).

  • Following receipt of the deposit we will put into place a payment schedule to be confirmed by yourself in advance to works starting. 

  • Any scheduled payment must have cleared into our account by the close of business on the agreed date of payment. Failure to do so may result in a cessation of work until the balance has cleared. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

  • If you are an agent / builder instructing us to carry out works on behalf of third party we will assume you are “the client” and as such assume you will adhere to these terms & conditions. If this is not the case please advise prior to making a booking.

  • We reserve the right to charge a standard day rate + vat (per person) should pre agreed access be denied by the tenant on the day of works, without 48hrs notice.

  • On completion of works you will be presented with either a hard or e mail copy of the invoice. We ask that any outstanding balance is paid on the day of completion / presentation of invoice. Our preferred method of payment is via BACS transfer. Cheques will incur the charge levied by the bank to deposit them.

  • As a small family business, we rely on prompt payment to remain competitive. Interest will be charged at 8% above the Bank of England base rate, per week, on any outstanding balances unless otherwise agreed in writing. If you would like to discuss delayed payment please let us know prior to making a deposit.
